Expert: Dan Rather Exaggerates Military Record

Expert: Dan Rather Exaggerates Military Record: "As Burkett explains in 'Stolen Valor,' Rather 'was discharged less than four months later on May 11, 1954 for being medically unfit."

Who is blowing Smoke?

CBS' Rather remains firm on Bush memos - (United Press International): Rather blathered, "'questions over the veracity of the memos was a smoke screen perpetrated by right-wing allies of the Bush administration,This is your basic fogging machine, which is set up to cloud the issue, to obscure the truth.'"

Lahontan Valley News and Fallon Eagle Standard - Opinion

"....I don't mind at all that Dan Rather is a hack for Lucky Jack Kerry. It bothers me not one bit that CBS is cuckolded by the Democrat National Committee. But please, could they just drop their pretense of neutrality? Dan Rather, quit pretending that you are 'above the fray'! Stop acting as if you possess some detached objectivity that qualifies you to look down on the great unwashed and tell us what to believe. The game is up, Buddy."

Congressional Hearings

Killian's former secretary, 86-year-old Marian Carr Knox, also questioned the documents in an interview with The Dallas Morning News.

"These are not real," Knox said in a story posted Tuesday on the newspaper's Web site. "They're not what I typed, and I would have typed them for him."

Now she goes on to say according to the Dallas Morning Star that she kept a unauthorized Personal file on guard members. This means that information concerning guard members were kept out of their 201 file.
Reports fuel doubts on documents used by CBS on Bush service

Does the old lady know This is an admission of a violation Military Regulations? Or, as one must expect from the MSM they have attempted to "CYA" themselves with misquotes?

Everything both positive and negitive better be in a vets 201 file. If it turns up outside of the 201 file it never happened. This is the records that follow you your whole life and the thought of them being questioned with unauthorized or forged memos ought to scare the hell out of every active service member and Vet.

It is time that we have Congressional Hearings and or turn this over to the DOJ.

What did Dan Rather know and when did he know it?

Rather should be wheeled up to the mic at a Congressional Hearing and made to come clean.
Congressman J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) demanded yesterday morning on the floor of the House to know "what did Dan Rather know and when did he know it?"
Another House member wants even more answers.

Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Calif.) wrote a letter to Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), chairman of the Subcommittee of Telecommunications and the Internet, calling on him to hold hearings on CBS's use of questionable documents in order to influence the election and its refusal to identify its sources.

The New CBS Position

From Balloon Juice

CBS apparently hired two experts to verify the authenticity of the docs before airing them on TV. Both think they're frauds so CBS dropped 'em and brought in Marcel Marceau or whatever his name is.
